Glass Chandelier is a project I crafted in a Glass Fabrication course taken at Virginia Commonwealth University. It consists of hand blown glass balls that have been cold worked to accomdate cylindrical soy wax candles, suspended from the ceiling with twine. As the candles burn, the wax will melt and expand to the shape of the bottom of the makeshift votive. Over time, the layers of wax will continue to melt and fill the shape of the glass, and new candles can be placed on top of the old wax and burned to create more layers.
