is a portrait study centered on Jessica Killebrew, a close collaborator who has worked with me since the beginning of my photographic practice. While the work documents her presence in front of the camera, it simultaneously serves as a reflection on my own artistic evolution.
The project consists of four photo shoots conducted across two dates, August 5, 2024 and September 13, 2025. These sessions are divided into four signatures, each representing a distinct stage in my technical development and visual language. By revisiting the same subject over time, the project isolates growth in lighting, composition, direction, and post-production, allowing progress to become visible rather than abstract.
Introspective explores the vulnerability inherent in looking back at early work. Instead of distancing myself from past images, I chose to archive and elevate them alongside more recent photographs. This deliberate pairing reframes growth not as a rejection of earlier efforts, but as continuous refinement, risk-taking, and self-critique.
The final piece is hand-bound using a coptic stitch with black thread, emphasizing craftsmanship and permanence. The exposed binding references transparency in process, reinforcing the conceptual framework of reflection and artistic accountability.
